You might be thinking, "8 months to plan a wedding?! Is it even possible?" We're here to tell you that at Elmore Court it certainly is! From finding the perfect florist to saying 'yes' to the dress, it can feel like planning on 2x speed which is where we come in to help slow it down! Check out our last remaining dates of 2024... they won't be around for long.

Sunday 11th Feb

Thursday 18th April

Friday 17th May

Friday 26th July

Saturday 27th July

Sunday 28th July

Saturday 14th December

If one of those dates might just be the one for you then read below for all things on planning a wedding in under 8 months and how it's doable and possible! Let's get ready to make your wedding dreams come true!

The Pros!

Although it might seem like you've hit the fast-forward button, there's a trove of delightful benefits with planning a list-minute wedding!

  • Less time to change your mind: Having years to plan can be a nightmare for those who struggle with decision-making. Sometimes resulting in many changes of heart on wedding style, which in turn can bump up costs and end up with multiple dresses which are never worn!
  • More enjoyment on the day: Similar to how spending hours in the kitchen can take away from the taste of your meal, having too long to spend on every tiny detail could suck some of the excitement and joy out of the day itself...
  • More likely to stick to budget: Having less time to spend money means less money will be spent! You are also more likely to find last-minute deals with a shorter lead time.
  • Less overwhelm: With a short-notice wedding to sharpen the mind, there will be no fear of idea overwhelm, never-ending scrolling and Pinterest brain frazzle.
  • Not people pleasing: Not having a lot of time is a great excuse to not factor in all your distant relatives' ideas and advice, just a simple 'sorry we don't have a lot of time' will save you much toing and froing and changing plans to suit everyone else!

Now let's get into the actual planning and all those fun steps you need to make!

Notice & Guestlist

One of the first steps you want to take after finding your perfect date is to let your guests know! The benefit of one of our Feb, Apr or May dates are that most guests won't have booked holidays, booked time off work or are attending other celebrations so may have more of an open diary!

The more notice your guests have... the easier.

You'll also want to give notice to the registry office! Make sure you talk to your registry office and get the lowdown on all the important dates and paperwork. They will be able to help with all the info and advice you need.

In the UK you need to give 28 days' notice before you intend to marry.

Go Digital!

Gone are the days where physical invites, RSVP's etc are essential! An email invitation does just as well. Not only is the option sustainable and in line with our ethos, but it also saves you heaps of time. You can also look into creating a wedding website with all the useful information your guests may need... did you know we actually create one for you??

An idea of the information your guests may need is...

  • Date & timings
  • Dress code
  • Location: Address & directions
  • Food options & dietary requirements
  • Plus ones & children
  • Any other need-to-know info: will it be an open bar? Do they need cash? Should they bring anything else?
  • Accommodation options
  • Gift list

Create a group chat with your attendees to send them links to find all the needed information... You can always ask your wedding party to monitor and answer and questions!

How To Find The Right Suppliers

Once you've locked in your dream date, ensured your guests are well aware, and your invitations have been dispatched, it now gets to the step that helps bring your fabulous day to life... finding the right suppliers!

It's not always the easiest step in the world which is why we've created a suppliers list with all of our absolute favourite suppliers! From fabulous florists to creative cakes... they're all magnificent in their own way and we LOVE working with them! Check them out here. Here's what you can expect to find:

We've covered all grounds so you don't have to! All suppliers have worked at Elmore before and have pulled out all the stops...

Mood Boards & Visions

So you've found your perfect suppliers... yay! For suppliers like florists, photographers, videographers, bakers etc. They'll want to know your vision or an idea of how'd you like your lovely day to look. Pinterest is our best friend and helps so many of our brides with inspiration.

Our Pinterest is designed to spark creativity and bring visions to life! Check it out here! Creating your own mood board not only provides a foundational base point for your suppliers but also offers you a visual compass on how you'd like your day to look. By combining different themes and colours, your unique style will flow... it'll also get you super excited!

Delegate... & Delegate Some More!

Whether it's the best man or the mother of the bride, you'll often find your nearest and dearest will be more than happy to help! It may be that you need to call your chosen makeup artist to book a trial or are working out dates and timings for your dress fitting... it may not be on the top of your list so delegate to those who have offered.

Ask your fashionista friends to shortlist bridesmaid and groomsmen outfits, or even better give your wedding party a colour scheme and ask them to choose their own outfits.

Comfort + confidence = beauty, and we think the matchy-matchy look is dated anyway! Whatever it may be... help is always an arms reach away.

On The Big Day

Wow, that came around fast right? Or maybe you're a couple of weeks or days away... we get the panic! But with our incredible team here at Elmore, you'll find your stress may not be as bad as you thought... don't forget, throughout your whole wedding process you'll have one of our fabulous wedding coordinators planning and helping all the way up to & on that wonderful day!

We're here to make you feel relaxed and to fully immerse yourself in the excitement of saying "I do" and celebrating that commitment with your loved ones... so we got it! Once your event manager has been assigned to you, they're always happy to help with whatever it may be.

Thursday 18th April

Not only is April such a wonderful time to get married, with nature awakening from its winter slumber, painting the world in hues of fresh green and vibrant Spring colours but this date also lands on a Long Thursday... which we love!

Instead of having the main house for the night of your wedding, a long Thursday includes the use of the house the night before as well meaning more time to celebrate and soak up the love. Let's have a sneak peek into what one can look like...
