9 Reasons to get Married in the Cotswolds

9 Reasons to get Married in the Cotswolds
Share

Elmore Court is the ultimate destination Cotswolds wedding venue so we’ve compiled just a few reasons why you should come and get married here. We know we're not 'officially' in the Cotswolds but Cotswold Life magazine includes the Forest of Dean, and we're so close at the bottom of the Cotswold escarpment, we're going with it!

  1. The Cotswold Countryside

The rolling green hills of the Cotswolds, makes for the best setting! The land that wraps around Elmore Court is being rewilded and is the perfect backdrop for any wedding. You can see the guests visibly relax when they arrive, and we’ll often see them exploring the grounds, peeking at the veg in the kitchen garden or wandering through the wild meadows watching the butterflies flutter around them! If you stay in the treehouses, you’ll be even closer to nature and see a plethora of bird life and maybe the odd brown hare lolloping by.

  1. The Picture Postcard Villages

Elmore is a small hamlet on the banks of the River Severn, a clutch of farms and beautiful black and white thatched cottages. Along the lane, there are more villages strung out, where you’ll find eggs sold from the farm gate, a cricket game being played and a country pub full of locals.

  1. Food and Drink

The Cotswolds has some of the best food and drink producers in the UK and Matt, our head chef, chooses many of his ingredients with a local provenance. From award winning cheeses, tomatoes grown in the greenhouse, cider made with apples from the orchards on the estate and bread made with wild farmed flour, milled with wheat grown on the Elmore Court estate.

  1. Wedding Expertise

We’ve been hosting weddings and events since 2013, and almost 2,000 weddings and celebrations have been held here at Elmore. We’ve seen it all and have a list of the best of the best wedding suppliers, who can make any dream come true. We’ve had helicopters land on the lawn, fairgrounds in the car park, you name it, we’ve done it!

  1. Perfect Location

Elmore Court is minutes away from Junction 12 of the M5, it’s easy to get to, but feels so remote and miles away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. You can’t see the neighbours - when you marry at Elmore Court the house is exclusively yours for the day!

  1. Elmore Court Versatility

At Elmore Court there are so many options available for you to choose. Indoor or outdoor wedding? Drinks on the lawn? Formal wedding in the great hall, party in the Gillyflower? From formal to relaxed, large wedding to small elopement, we’ve got you covered!

  1. Once in a Lifetime Wedding

Every wedding is as unique as you are, we don’t do packages or fit you in a ‘one size fits all’ box. We assign you an event manager a year before your wedding, and work with you, and perhaps your family to weave together your dream wedding. You’ll come in for a menu tasting and wine tasting and have someone on the end of the phone or email to answer all your questions. We’ll take away all your worries so you can relax and enjoy your wedding day.

  1. The Gillyflower

The Gillyflower is our large modern ballroom, with the best light and sound system in the Cotswolds. Once the ceremony is over, The Gillyflower is where you’ll enjoy your reception and have a party that your guests will be talking about for years to come.

  1. Our Home is your Home

Elmore has been in the Guise family for over 750 years. It isn’t decorated like a hotel, it is decorated with the furnishings and filled with the heirlooms of the Guise family. Making it a unique luxury wedding venue like no other.
