A Dreamy Summer Wedding Brimming with Flowers and Elegance

Tell Us How You Met?

Matt and I met when I was at University, he was visiting a friend, and I was on fresher’s week! Coincidentally we were actually from the same area back home! I continued with my University studies and Matt travelled to see me at the weekends, it's been nearly 9 years!

How Did He Propose?

It was our first ever visit to the beautiful Cotswolds, it was not long after the pandemic so we decided to holiday in the UK, we stayed at some stunning locations throughout the week one being a lovely Shepherds hut in Burford surrounded by rolling fields and sunshine, Matt went down on one knee and the rest is history! We spent the rest of the day drinking and grinning from ear to ear, I will never forget facetiming our friends and family to tell them news. I later found out my three best friends all knew it was going to happen and were waiting for THE call from me!

Why Elmore Court?

I did so much research on wedding venues and there really was only one that we felt like we wanted to go visit in person and that was Elmore, as soon as we drove in, we were obsessed, we had the lovely Kat show us around and the more we saw the more we knew it was the one. We always spoke about getting married in a Chateaux in France, but it would mean some family would not be able to join us, so we decided against it, Elmore gave me subtle French chateaux vibes, it’s so beautiful, images don't do it justice. I really love the old charm and tradition of the main house and then the stunning views of The Gillyflower with the most epic dancefloor! It really was our dream venue.

Where Did Your Inspiration Come From?

Timeless was my theme, I wanted to look back in years to come and still love it, soft greens, black tie, romantic and effortless. Instagram and Pinterest were key to planning!

How Did You Find The Planning?

I loved it, don't get me wrong it was tricky at times but we had a very clear vision of what we wanted to so it all came down to finding the suppliers that could bring our vision to life, which I can't thank our suppliers enough they were all incredible, and the loveliest people too! Annie at Elmore was also an amazing help, the friendliest person ever!

We Loved Your Stunning Gown! How Did You Choose It?

My dress was an Australian Designer, Made With Love Bridal, I loved the idea of the appliqué flower so I we into dress hunting with that in mind, I tried on many dresses and then fell in love with the Darcy dress, not the neckline I thought I would of gone for but I loved it, I was obsessed with the cap sleeve and iconic low back. I had custom earring and hair piece made by Vivi Embellish that matched the flower on my dress perfectly. My veil was also bespoke, it read ‘I love the most' and our wedding date. Oh, and you can't forget the Sofia Webster heels, my something blue, wifey for lifey!!

On The Morning Of, How Did You Feel?

In all honesty, I was very nervous, I think the adrenaline took over! I was in such good hands with everyone at Elmore though, they couldn't have been more helpful! My wedding morning was honestly one of my favourite moments of the whole day, such a special time with my bridesmaids, mum and flower girls, we chatted, laughed, cried, sipped champagne and just soaked it all in, I'm very grateful for them all. My hair and makeup artists were so amazing too, they really helped put me and ease and feel beautiful.

Tell Us About The Ceremony?

Moments before I was just concentrating on breathing and holding back my tears, I had my lovely mum walk me down the aisle, a really special moment that I will treasure forever.  I had the amazing Libby sing me down the aisle (which was a surprise for Matt) I walked down to Alicia Keys- If I Ain't Got You. The ceremony was just perfect, Matt looked so handsome, I couldn't wait to get to him and hold onto him.

What Was Your Reaction To The Gilly?

I'm still not over it, it was so beautiful and everything we had ever dreamed of, it’s so rewarding seeing all your planning and ideas come together, the gillyflower is so beautiful anyway, and what we chose really complimented it, not forgetting the neon sign, so glad we went for it! We always knew we would like to honour those who couldn't be with us on our special day, so we had table full of our grandparents wedding photos, this bought a tear to most of our guests’ eyes.

First Dance?

Is This Love acoustic cover by Luke Burr, we slid away behind the dancefloor curtain without anyone noticing, our DJ asked if we wanted to practice, I said no and Matt said yes, needless to say, we didn't we just went for it! The music started and the curtains opened, looking around at our family and friends was very emotional. We had arranged that our sax player would start at the end of the first dance song to get everyone up, it was brilliant, I don't think I left the dancefloor!

We truly are in awe of this wonderful day.
